Charlton Rovers Football Club was founded in 1976 by the parents of young children attending Glenfall Primary School in the Charlton Kings area of Cheltenham.
The club is licensed by the Football Association as a mini soccer centre and runs a Saturday club for 7 - 8 year olds (school years 2 and 3) each week. The club runs teams in the Cheltenham Youth League for boys and girls at under 9's and under 10's (playing 7-a-side). The club also has 14 youth teams from under 9 to under 16 who compete in The Cheltenham Youth League at 11-a-side. The club also has an Under 18 Team, who compete in the Bristol Under 18 Football Combination Gloucestershire Division. We also have 3 senior sides who play in the Cheltenham League in Divisions 1, 3 & 6 and these teams comprise of many players who have graduated from the Rovers Youth System.
Famous old boys include former Cheltenham Town players - Martin Devaney, Michael Jackson, Stuart Fraser and the legendary Dave Payne!!!!
